Design narrative

Adaptive reuse of an old residential property into a layered, intimate 22-room boutique hotel.

The design is organized as a sequence of compression and release. Solid planes create privacy toward the street, while rooms open inward to planted courts, filtered light, and moving air. The result is calm without feeling sealed, and precise without becoming precious.

Three design decisions

Less gesture. More effect.

01

A breathable center

A planted court acts as the environmental and social center of the plan.

02

Filtered boundaries

Screens and deep reveals protect privacy while keeping light and air in motion.

03

A restrained palette

A compact set of tactile materials gives the architecture continuity and calm.
